Swann's Wireless Surveillance Examined in 'Free Access'
21 September 2005
Swann wireless surveillance range has featured in the new edition of the Australian PC and lifestyle technology magazine 'Free Access'. The October release carries a review for Swann's Night Hawk Wireless Outdoor Cameras and Mobile Viewer.
The article says:
"Swann has recently released a number of wireless products designed to make setting is a security system a breeze – including a wireless night vision camera and a portable viewer.
The Swann Night hawk Outdoor Camera (ERP 9) allows you to keep an eye on your home or office, without the hassle of having to run cables – very convenient if you want to use this camera in an outdoor setting. As the name suggests, the camera can capture night - time video courtesy of 12 infra - red LEDs. Bundled with a receiver, the camera can be linked to a digital video recorder, VCR, TV or PC with capture card. Using the 2.4GHz frequency, the camera has a range of up to 100m, though this will depend on the terrain. We’ve reviewed similar night vision cameras in the past and have been able to capture good quality video. The Swann Night Hawk Wireless Outdoor Camera is also available in a two-pack with switchable wireless receiver (ERP 9).
The Swann Mobile Viewer (ERP 9.95) allows you to view images from one or two 2.4GHz wireless surveillance cameras (available separately) on a 2.5 inch LCD colour screen.
About the size of a PDA, you could use the Mobile Viewer, for example, to keep an eye on the kids while you’re in another part of the house. A very interesting product.â€
