Featuring a built-in transmitter, the Nighthawk can be powered be either a single 9volt battery or can be connected to 240v mains power via the supplied adaptor, the camera transmits much clearer, sharper pictures over greater distances with less interference.
The camera also features a number of built-in infrared LEDs controlled by an automatic light sensor. When the ambient light level around the camera drops below a certain level, the infrared LEDs automatically activate illuminating the camera image using infrared light, which is invisible to the naked eye. This way, people in the area of the camera remain oblivious of its existence.
This is a great device for people wanting added security for minimum cost and fuss.
Swann has recently extended its digital video recording range, introducing two new DVR products.

It fuses personal computing with digital video security monitoring to protect businesses and homes by allowing users to simultaneously monitor 4 security cameras through their PC. The product features a PCI card and software that can be accessed locally via a single PC or LAN. However, the product’s major advantage is its ability to be accessed remotely via wide area network or the internet. By using the web, users can see and record what the cameras see 24/7 and the product’s motion detection has an email notification feature. The Swann DVR4-Net also allows for simultaneous monitoring and recording of up to 4 security cameras. The unit records multiple full resolution, high capacity video streams onto a hard drive, with enhanced features that can’t be matched by old technologies such as quad processing and time-lapse video recording. Like the PC Security Guardian, the DVR4-Net has connectivity to allow remote monitoring over your LAN,WAN or the internet from anywhere in the world.
